Sri Lanka’s leading Health and Beauty retail chain, Healthguard—a subsidiary of Sunshine Healthcare Lanka Limitedrecognised their eminently-qualified pharmacists recently, in honour of World Pharmacist Day 2019.
A special event was organised at the Healthguard Training Centre in Colombo 03, which brought togetherall outlet supervisors along withthe management teamof Healthguard.
The theme of this year’s World Pharmacist Day, as designated in 2009 by International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and the United Nations (UN), is “Safe and effective medicines for all”, which Healthguard endorses unequivocally. All Healthguard pharmacists play a front-line role in patient safety through improving medicine use and reducing medication errors, and they are deeply conscious of this responsibility.
“Pharmacists use their broad knowledge and specific expertise to ensure that people get the best out of their medicines. Today, more than ever, pharmacists are charged with the responsibility to ensure that when a patient uses a medicine, it will not cause them any harm. With the theme of this year’s World Pharmacist Day, we are glad to highlight the crucial role that pharmacists play in the safe and effective use of medicine,” said Healthguard Chief Executive Officer, Infiyaz Ali.
