Recalibrating Sri Lanka’s Economic Trajectory Towards 2025

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will hold the country’s foremost economic event, the Sri Lanka Economic Summit (SLES) 2019 on September 17 and 18, at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo. The summit will be held on the theme of ‘Recalibrating Sri Lanka’s Economic Trajectory Towards 2025 (RE-SET 2025).

The two-day event will bring together key policymakers, business leaders, top international thought leaders and experts to spell out a way forward in RE-SET 2025. The theme has been suitably chosen to reflect the need to re-calibrate the status-quo of the economy, and the overall journey towards the development of Sri Lanka.

While domestic policies will be the focus in most sessions, global dynamics that will potentially unfold over the next decade will also be discussed.

The role that transformative technologies will play and Sri Lanka’s own progress in adopting these technologies where relevant will also be highlighted.

The Economic Summit last year focused on trade, investment, and services that thrust Sri Lanka’s economy forward, and had over 450 participants from across a wide spectrum of professions, which included Chairpersons, diplomats, academia, scholars, and senior government officials.

This year’s summit will deliberate on key proposals and reforms that need to be implemented in the period leading up to 2025 in order for Sri Lanka to realize its true economic potential.

The Ceylon Chamber is pleased to have Port City Colombo and Standard Chartered as the Platinum sponsors for the event, and Sunshine Holdings as the Gold sponsor. Dialog Axiata PLC signed on as the official telecommunications sponsor, with economy.lk partnering up for digital communications.
