Akkaraipattu Zakath Fund opens mini garment factory

The Akkaraipattu Zakath Fund functioning under the Federation of All Mosques Akkaraipattu inaugurated a handloom factory (mini garment) recently at Badur Nagar in the Akkaraipattu DS division in the Ampara district.

Zakath Fund has started a self employment project to produce textiles. This is the first weaving industry in the Akkaraipattu area. A group of unemployed youths have been assigned for this mini garment factory.

The textile produced in this weaving industry is similar to the products of India. It is therefore clearly evident that the progress of the weaving industry in Akkaraipattu has greatly improved, facing modern challenges.

The products are of good quality and texture and the products have a good demand in the area. Zakath fund has created the marketing facilities for these products. The Zakath Fund has introduced its mini garment factory and their productions recently. It was held under the patronage of Zakath Fund President and the Akkaraipattu Zonal Education Director A.M. Rahmathullah.
