Continuing its impeccable track record, Munchee, the flagship brand of Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL), showcased its supremacy once again by winning the National Quality Award (NQA) under the large category for the third time.

Organised and implemented by Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI), the award recognises Sri Lankan organisations that excel in quality management and quality achievements. This prestige honour is only presented once every five years and in securing this for the third time aptly demonstrates Munchee’s continuous commitment to sustain and improve quality.

Ceylon Biscuits has since inception taken pride in focusing on maintaining stringent quality of its products instilled bythe quality philosophy of its President Emeritus Mineka Wickramasingha.

The business began with the manufacture of high-protein biscuits to supplement midday meals for school children under a joint programme between CARE International, USA and the Sri Lanka Government. Even then research and development was carried out to ensurethe high-protein biscuit conformed to nutritional requirements.

Commenting on the award, Nalin Karunaratne Chief Executive Officer, Ceylon Biscuits Ltd said, “Quality continues to remain the biggest priority of CBL top management from our inception to-date. We abide by our commitment to deliver nothing but the best to our customers and this is sustained in every aspect throughout the company’s culture.

Our entire team is passionate in corporate social activities apart from their actual work and we continue to invest in state-of-the-art technology in addition to employee training.”
