Home-grown video medical consultation platform, oDoc is gearing up for a rapid expansion in the scale of its domestic operations having recently secured over Rs. 40 million in equity-free grant funding from the GSMA Ecosystem Accelerator Innovation Fund.
oDoc was selected together with 10 other start-ups from across Africa and Asia. In terms of impact, 1.8 million beneficiaries have been reached to date by the various projects funded by the GSMA Ecosystem Accelerator programme, while the equivalent of £2.5 million of additional income has been unlocked collectively, through direct revenue increases for citizens and local businesses, savings or productivity gains.
Dr. Janaka Wickramasinge, oDoc Chief Medical Officer said, “oDoc was first developed to directly tackle the challenge of expanding access to efficient, high-quality healthcare using the latest tools at our disposal. We now see similar services being rolled out across the globe from the UK and USA to India, Japan, Singapore and Rwanda.
