Lanka companies to participate in Texworld in USA

Eight Garments manufacturers from Sri Lanka will take part in the Texworld - Apparel Sourcing exhibition which will be held from January 21 to 23 at the Javits Convention Center in USA.

For the first time, Sri Lanka Chamber of Garment Exporters with the assistance of the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka (EDB) is organizing a Sri Lankan Pavilion at this event.

Haward Fashion, Jia Moda, Jumeirah Lanka, Kash Garments, Perks Clothing, Sarasavi Exports, Screenline and Sun Queen Garment will represent Sri Lanka at the fair.

This Fair has positioned itself as a must attend industry event and business platform bringing together the best international apparel fabric, trims and accessory suppliers in the heart of New York City.

The U.S. has been the leading buyer of Lankan exports over the years and it continued its lead even this year.

Texworld USA, Apparel Sourcing USA and Home Textiles Sourcing Summer 2018 featured over 837 exhibitors representing 19 countries and over 5,000 visitors. The show presented textiles with innovative structures, material mixes and surprising color palettes across 15 product categories. Attendees viewed the latest colors, trends, materials, fabrics and more with an exclusive opportunity to network and meet designers and suppliers from around the world while taking advantage of complimentary educational seminars and inspiring workshops.

Attendees from the retail and supply industry will have access to new information on textile and fabric trends, as well as a schedule of industry-related educational seminars sponsored by Lenzing Fibers. Talks are set to center on sustainability, with topics ranging from chemical-free dying processes to the effects of tariffs and China’s take on sustainable solutions.

“Our exhibitors, now more than ever, know the importance of speed to market as well having the ability to supply eco-friendly sourcing options to retain and obtain buyers,” said Jennifer Bacon, the show’s director of fashion and apparel, in a release. “Manufacturers are starting to see this as a requirement and not just an option due to increased global concerns about business practices.”

  1. Nice Post. Glad to learn that many exhibitors from Sri Lanka showcased their textiles & apparel trends at Texworld. I wonder exhibitors from what all countries are going to be part of the upcoming Texworld Paris. Do you have any idea?
