Clarion embarks on Rs 2.1 bn development project

The ground breaking ceremony of the US$ 13 million mix development project, Clarion City Kiribathgoda was held yesterday at Kiribathgoda.

The luxury Clarion City complex is scheduled to be finished in three stages. The first phase will consist of a luxury hotel and apartment complex with an initial investment of Rs 700 million.

The second stage of the project will comprise offices and apartments and the third phase will add a shopping complex.

Danuja Pathirana, Managing Director of Clarion Hotels said he expects to introduce luxury apartment living to Kiribathgoda with this project. He said they plan to accomplish the Rs 2.1 billion mix development project in three stages with each stage taking a period of two years. The first phrase will comprise between 35 to 40 apartments and is scheduled to be completed by 2021. Pathirana said the specialty of the project was that the apartments will run parallel with the hotel project so that residents could obtain the services of the hotel as well. The Managing Director said the project is carried out with their Chinese partner HongKong Runxing Managing Director Yan and they plan to complete the project by 2025 on a 80 perch land.
