Each room comes complete with amenities like air conditioning, hot-cold water, a Safety box, mini-fridges, cable TV, internet, and tea and coffee and 24-hour room service.

“In a bid to provide more luxury to the property we also have a rooftop swimming pool and also a pool table and special facilities to host mini-conferences. We also plan to introduce High tea and other activities soon.”

The hotel also offers a mini cafeteria facing the Sangaraja Mawatha, (opposite the lake) Kandy which could accommodate around 30 guests. “Specialty of this restaurant is that all food items offered including ice creams, pastries and fruit juices are handmade.”

Gamage said that they planned to open the hotel last October but was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commenting on the future developments she said that they have acquired land and two abandoned properties and are in the process of o converting them to hotels offering diversified hotels. “We have bought a 41 room hotel almost adjoining RU Boutique and will convert this to a 40 room luxury hotel. “Over 70% of the refurbishment has been completed and we hope to do it next January under the brand name, Kings Lake Hotel.”

Kings Lake Hotel Management is also building Kandy’s first ‘long stay apartment hotel’ in the heart of the city offering 20 apartments. “Our third and fourth projects would be 20 room Luxury hotels each in Upper Lake Road in Kandy and another location we plan to build two more hotels in lands which they have acquired last year.
