A branch of the Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation (SLSTGC) has been officially opened by the Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardana at new Kalmunai Road, Batticaloa on Friday. This corporation started in 1970 deals with all goods connected with the household, office, building sports, recreation, information technology, electrical goods, stationery, hardware, software, furniture and fittings activities. The Minister had come to Batticaloa on an invitation of Parliamentarian and Leader of the Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Puliga Party (TMVPP) Sivanesadurai Chandrakanthan and is seen at the opening with Batticaloa Government Agent K.
