To bring about excellence in financial reporting by preparing and presenting financial statements in compliance with Sri Lanka Public Sector Accounting Standards which were formulated by The Association of Public Finance Accountants of Sri Lanka (APFASL), together with the Ministry of Finance, will host the fourth annual ‘Public Sector Best Annual Report and Accounts Awards’ competition at BMICH on February 22 (today) 3 p.m. onwards in compliance with all the relevant health guidelines.
APFASL, the Public Sector Wing of CA Sri Lanka, with the vision to lead the excellence in Public Financial Management in the country continued to play a pioneering role by launching several initiatives to strengthen the Public Financial Management Practices in the country to assist the government to enhance transparency, accountability and good governance in the public sector.
Over 70 public sector organizations are invited to participate in this occasion which will be graced by Nivard Cabraal the State Minister of Money and Capital Market and State Enterprises Reform as the chief guest along with the Secretary to the Treasury and the Secretary of the Public Service, provincial councils and Local government as guests of honours
Government entities classified under the categories of; Ministries, Departments, Provincial Councils, Universities, Statutory Boards, Municipal Councils, Urban Councils Pradeshiya Sabhas and foreign-funded projects could apply for the honours. A total of three awards are made under each category, the winner, first runner up and second runner up.
32 APFASL members who received CASL CPFA qualifications at the last year convocation will also be awarded with membership certificates from Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountancy (CIPFA), London at this ceremony.
This is an integral part of this annual event of the Association.
