Professor Douglas W. Arner, Kerry Holdings Professor at the University of Hong Kong will be the Keynote Speaker at FinTech Association of Sri Lanka’s (FASL) ‘Asia Fintech Night’ on December 5, 2020 at Hilton Colombo.
Professor Douglas W. Arner, the Kerry Holdings Professor at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) will be the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker at the ‘Asia Fintech Night’ which will be hosted by the Fintech Association of Sri Lanka(FASL) in collaboration with Colorado, USA based American Academy of Project Management(AAPM) and Global Academy of Finance and Management(GAFM) on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Hilton Colombo.
He was the Director of the Law Faculty’s Asian Institute of International Financial Law(AIIFL) from 2006 to 2011, which he co-founded in 1999 and served as the Head of the Department of Law from 2011 to 2014.
He is a Senior Fellow of Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne, and a Non-Executive Director of Aptorum Group [NASDAQ: APM].
He has served from 2012 to 2018 as Project Coordinator of a major five-year project funded by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council Theme-based Research Scheme on “Enhancing Hong Kong’s Future as a Leading International Financial Centre”.
Professor Douglas Arner has served as a consultant with, among others, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Alliance for Financial Inclusion, APEC, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Islamic Financial Services Board and Development Bank of Southern Africa. He has authored and co-authored a number of books in the subjects of economic and financial law, regulation and development.
He led the development of the world’s largest massive open online course (MOOC): ‘Introduction to FinTech’, as part of the first online Professional Certificate in FinTech of HKU, launched on edX in May 2018, now spanning every country in the world.
