Horizon Campus has completed seven batches of Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) programmes of University of Moratuwa, resulting in producing over 200 qualified graduates for the IT industry in the country.
Speaking of this successes, Upul Daranagama, Chairman of Horizon Campus stated “It is our mission to present society with an intellectual breed of graduates that will take the nations IT industry to the next level and produce the type of innovative technologies that the world and industries need. Technology is the future and by producing the necessary IT talent that the country needs is one way we as an educational institute can contribute towards the growth of its economy. Our partnership with the University of Moratuwa was an initiative we felt would help bring both local and international expertise under one roof that can benefit our students to be trained as top professionals who can attain the best careers in the field of technology. The impressive results produced at the completion of each batch is a testament to the success of this partnership”.
Approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the degree comprises of six semesters and open to G.C.E.(A/L) qualified students from any stream, the BIT degree is designed to train students with a breadth of knowledge across a range of IT disciplines, and a depth of understanding in a specialization, allowing them to become sought after professionals in the IT industry.
Classes are conducted in accordance with the quality standards defined by the University of Moratuwa with a highly qualified senior academic panel utilized by excellent infrastructure and facilities to support quality learning.
Continuous assessments and evaluations to map the progress of students along with various assessment techniques such as Quizzes, Discussion Forums and Practical Examinations, will be a part of the Programme. The Degree allows multiple exit points that includes the Diploma level, Higher Diploma level and Degree level and prepare students for a variety of career paths, such as Network and Systems Administration, Database Administration, Web Development, Security Analysis, Software Developer, Software Architect, Software Designer, Network Engineer and Business Analyst. In addition, diploma holders of SLIATE HNDIT can also follow this degree at Malabe Horizon campus.
Furthermore, those who complete this BIT programme will have the benefit of being considered as graduate of the University of Moratuwa, there by opening avenues for postgraduate studies.
Due to popular demand, registrations are once again open for the next intake scheduled to commence in September 2020.
