‘Sri Lanka Business Today’ sole representative at AIM in UAE

Opening up a new avenue of investment to the country, ‘Sri Lanka Business Today’ company has been appointed as Sri Lankan sole representative to promote Dubai’s largest investment forum, Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress, scheduled for 2021.

The ’Annual Investment Meeting’ is held each year in UAE since 1999 in the Dubai World Conversation Center and is a major trade and investment event with over 6000 participants from around 40 countries.

AIM, is a World’s leading investment platform in the Middle East and North Africa. AIM gathers high-ranking government officials, decision makers, corporate leaders, policy makers, businessmen, regional and international investors, entrepreneurs, leading academics and investment experts to address the global challenges of securing viable investment aimed at contributing to economic growth.

“After careful study of the AIM we found out that these Sri Lankan companies could highly benefit by attending this event. Then we contacted the organizers and convinced them that Sri Lanka should be invited for this and the AIM organizers readily agreed. Then they appointed us as the sole representative in Sri Lanka to promote this event,” said Founder, Sri Lanka Business Today (SLBT) Jude Ukkwatte.

“We have also requested space from AIM to have a Sri Lanka Pavilion which will be highly beneficial for local manufacturers, suppliers and service providers.

“I set up Sri Lanka Today last year as an online business news platform that seeks to inform, engage and empower the business community to do business in Sri Lanka.

“We do this via Business news articles, experts’ views on Sri Lanka and existing industry leaders’ interviews. Our aim is to project and establish Sri Lanka as a Leading Business Hub in Asia.

The local companies can showcase their products and services to a huge audience not only in UAE but all over the world enabling them to find buyers, partners and agents.

AIM would also be a good opportunity for the Sri Lankan real estate companies to take up space and showcase their services. He said that unlike the Arabian Travel Mart which is also held every year the hotel companies would have a better market since not only the world’s leisure sector but also the business sector to be represented at this event.
