MyDoctor launches “Lifestyle Disease Management feature”

MyDoctor a Premier Digital Health company in Sri Lanka, has introduced “Lifestyle Disease Management feature” to empower your wellbeing with a vision to reduce the NCD burden in the country for the first time via a Digital Health platform.

Dr. Harsha Jayakody, founder of MyDoctor further emphasized, “With this new feature in th e App, an individual will be empowered to manage his or her NCD condition without any hassle”. The beauty of this feature is that it will enable proactively manage the disease and set goals to achieve promoting lifestyle changes.

Globally non communicable diseases (NCDs) are causing premature morbidity and mortality. According to WHO statistics, out of the 56.9 million global deaths in the year 2016, 40.5 million or in other words 71% were accounted for were due to NCDs. Out of the NCDs, cardiovascular diseases account for nearly 31% of deaths globally followed by cancers 15% and Diabetes 5% respectively. According to the statistics, 75% of these deaths occur in low and middle income countries (LMIC) including Sri Lanka.

“Corporate sector may also benefit from this new feature. The employers mainly concern on improving worker productivity, reducing absenteeism, improving workforce morale, workplace safety and reducing health expenditure of the employees.”

With the new MyDoctor Lifestyle Management Feature, it will enable the employees to proactively manage their ailments which will address the employers concerns ultimately.
