Velona Cuddles diapers does not have any impact from the spread of COVID-19 virus and parents can place their fullest trust on the product, Chairman and CEO, Thread Works (Pvt) Ltd Gehan De Soysa said at the launch of Sri Lanka’s First Diaper Subscription App, on March 4 at Hilton Hotel.
He said that regardless of where the production takes place, the raw material are all purchased from multiple countries and these raw materials are absolutely safe since a virus cannot live outside the human body for more than two or three days.
Dominating in ten countries, the Sri Lankan owned brand carries out its production in a joint venture with a company which is Singaporean known. “Earlier our products were manufactured in Sri Lanka, but as the company grew our idea was to take the Sri Lankan brand under Velona Cuddles to the rest of the world,” he said.
De Soysa also said that the production of the diapers are based upon three pillars, safety of the baby, comfort of the baby and making the lives of the parents easier. All raw materials are imported from tier one suppliers who has the material certifications and raw material traceability. Reasons for the brand’s popularity are the special design that makes it suitable for the country’s humid climate and that all diapers are free of the harsh chemicals used in most other brands.
Further it is the only diaper that does not use plastic to water proof the diaper where instead non-woven technology is used. The product also makes the lives of parents easy by colour coding the pack to select the correct size for their baby.
Head of Communication, Tread Works (Pvt) Ltd, Tiasha De Soysa said that this app is launched to make the lives easier for parents and to save their precious time. The app involves three simple steps such as user login, selecting the suitable diaper subscription bundle and entering payment details. The app comes with a ‘delayed start option’ so that the expecting parents may set start date to sync up a couple of weeks before their expected due date. Another feature of this app is that it gives the opportunity to create multiple profiles and subscriptions for the kids through the account dashboard. A convenient sizing slider which helps parents to choose the best size for their child is available to ensure better comfort levels.
