Teaspire: Challenge to diabetes, high blood pressure, heart ailments

Lakmark Enterprises (Pvt.) Ltd., after a series of research and development has launched a variety of herbal tea products under the name “Teaspire.”

Director, Lakmark Enterprises M. Sachindra Jayanetti, said that health benefits of a tea leaf is diluted by adding milk and sugar.

“It could also lead to health challenges such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart ailments and kidney deterioration, which are widely heard in Sri Lanka over a period of time.”

Most importantly, the freshness of tea is taken away by sugar and milk.

“To increase the nutritional value of Tea, adding a squashed piece of fresh Ginger became very popular since it invigorates the body and due to the popularity of this practice Ayurvedic herbs and plants are been very successfully introduced. This was the birth of herbal teas which is very beneficial to the consumers to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”

Research has shown that the non-infectious diseases as such as Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and Kidney related ailments, could be controlled with Herbal teas and to meet this demand, we launched ‘Teaspire’ where Health and Safety profile is at its highest.

He said that they also obtained consultancy of Senior Ayurvedic Doctor M. Punchihewa of the Kandy Ayurvedic hospital’s expertise and guidance to formulate these herbal teas. “Highest quality up country tea has been used in the manufacture of eight (8) varities of ‘Teaspire herbal’ teas, whilst ensuring quality, taste and goodness is maintained at all times.
