The 18th AGM of PIM Alumni Association of Post Graduate Institute of Management was held recently.
The leadership of the Alumni association changed hands from Dinesh Hamangoda to Jayalal Hewawasam for the year 2019/20.
Jayalal holds an MBA from The PIM and he is a (Jayalal who received his Master’s Degree in 2009 from PIM) Fellow member (FCII) of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and Fellow member (FCIM of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) Jayalal is also a council member of the Association of the Chartered Insurance Professionals (ACIP) of Sri Lanka.
He is a Chartered Marketer and Chartered Insurer and has diverse business experience, having worked at Caltex Lubricants Lanka Ltd, Sri Lanka Insurance Ltd, AIG Insurance and Union Assurance Insurance Plc. for over 22 years. Currently he is the Managing Director of Assetline Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd.
The newly-elected President Jayalal elaborating on his vision for PIMA, ‘best in networking & quality of delivery’ said that he would leverage the Alumni association’s engagement with its members, universities and other professional bodies, corporates and the public in general to deliver best in class intellectual programs and workshops. Recognizing PIM Alumni contribution to the Management fraternity in Sri Lanka, Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. has come forward to be the strategic partner for PIM Alumni for the year 2019/20.
The PIM Alumni Association of Postgraduate Institute of Management is the most prestigious and active body with a membership base of around 3,000 who represent diverse fields of expertise, achievement and disciplines and specialties.
PIMA organizes events of national importance bringing together the academia, corporates, expatriates and the public sector. The PIM Alumni association has become a vibrant entity in Sri Lanka seeking to develop nation’s thought leaders and transform socio-economic system with an aim to generate more opportunities for its members and countrymen.
