
Indraka Liyanage, from ICICI Bank Limited, Colombo was awarded the ‘Chief Risk Officer of the year’ at the Golden Globe Tigers Awards for Excellence and Leadership awards held recently at Taj samudra Hotel.
Liyanage counts over 25 years of banking experience and was recognized with this award for his passion, dedication and commitment towards the industry. He currently serves as the CRO of ICICI Bank Limited, Colombo and is also a Director/council member at aat Sri Lanka. He holds a commonwealth executive MBA and is presently appointed as the President of CEMBA/CEMPA Alumni of Sri Lanka branch.
He is also the Vice President of the Association of Banking sector Risk Professionals in Sri Lanka, set up by the CROs of all commercial and specialized banks. In addition he also serves as a council member in Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development and is a visiting lecturer in many universities and training institutes.
Liyanage is a Fellow member of Certified Professional Managers, Sri Lanka Institute of Directors, Association of Professional managers and OPA. He has also served as a council member at Royal College Union.
To ensure the awards are prestigious, the Golden Globe Tiger Awards are awarded based on a comprehensive research process. The juries consist of senior leaders, researches and academicians including some prominent names such as Arun Arora, former president, The Economic Times. The shortlist is then passed on and reviewed by panel of juries comprising senior professionals from across the globe.
