LIFE to promote startups with Innovfest Unbound, Singapore

Lanka Innovation Forum for Entrepreneurship (LIFE), a movement established as a public trust, partnered with Innovfest Unbound in Singapore as a selected community partner. Innovfest Unbound is one of the largest gatherings of startup, scaleup and innovation ecosystems in Asia. The event saw a gathering of around 15,000 delegates, around 5,000 startups and is hailed as one of the most influential innovation-related events in South East Asia.

Lanka Innovation Forum for Entrepreneurship (LIFE) is a movement comprising of technologists, startup & SME entrepreneurs and the general public who are using or interested in using technology & innovation for economic and social growth. LIFE identifies and emphasises on the importance of technology, Innovation and entrepreneurship for the economic and social progress of Sri Lanka.

LIFE firmly believes that technology and innovation-based enterprises are a key economic motivator to first compliment and then challenge the traditional value-added or crop-based exports that Sri Lanka is currently known for. LIFE is a volunteer movement and works towards bringing together Sri Lankans from all walks of life who want to see Sri Lanka as a key regional player in the technology, innovation and entrepreneurship space.

LIFE acknowledges and emphasises on the importance of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals identified by the United Nations and works toward establishing sustainable programmes on technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. LIFE believes in the need for improving the existing education systems at all levels, leading to generations of youth who can challenge the current social status quo of Government subsistence.

Speaking about LIFE, it’s Founder & executive advisory council member, Dr. Amila Kankanamge said that ‘I see LIFE as a timely catalyst for creating an entrepreneurial culture in Sri Lanka. It’s about time that we fully embraced the importance of homegrown businesses that can transcend our geopolitical barriers and create economic sustainability’. LIFE was represented by a delegation of fifteen technological and innovation leaders from Sri Lanka and the organisation strives to create a collaborative and conducive entrepreneurial culture that transcends diverse barriers.
