Nutrinnovate Lanka signs MoU with Department of Social Services

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), was signed last week between the Department of Social Services and Nutrinnovate Lanka Private Limited to provide healthy meals to the people with slow intellectual development, living at Jayaviru Sevana Home, Puwakpitiya, maintained by the Department of Social Services.

The event took place at The Vocational Training Centre for Disabled People at Amunukubmura. The memorandum was signed by Chandana Ranaweera Arachchi, the Social Services Director and Bhadra Warsapperuma, the Director of Nutrinnovate Lanka.

Nutrinnovate Lanka is the sister company of Nutrinnovate Australia and the sole representative for its global brand portfolio in Sri Lanka, which includes ‘Nutrinnovate Australia’, ‘Nutrinno’ and ‘Fine Diners’. The three Australian-origin brands exclusively include healthy food ranges such as Muesli, Granola and Breakfast Cereals manufactured to Australian recipes and Australian quality standards.

The company has pledged to use its expertise in latest food and nutritional research to provide minimally processed healthy foods formulated with all-natural ingredients to the residents of the home continuously and free of charge, with the view of uplifting their immunity andhealth.

At the signing of the MoU, Warsapperuma pointed out that “Nutrinnovate Lanka which imports, trades and repacks under the license of Nutrinnovate Australia is synonymous with innovation of natural, nutritious foods in Sri Lanka for active and healthy living. Under this agreement, residents with slow intellectual development at Jayaviru Sevana home will get the opportunity to enjoy a delicious and nutritious breakfast with our premium branded products such as Nutrinnovate Australia Blueberry and Cranberry Muesli, Green Apple Muesli, Strawberry or Vanilla Flavored Oats or the Nutrinno granola range and the premium fettuccine pasta range manufactured with Oats, Chia Seeds, Beetroot, Spinach or Saffron”.

Speaking further, Warsapperuma also said that this sponsorship by Nutrinnovate Lanka symbolizes company’s vision to provide its premium branded healthy natural foods not only to the affluent segments in the society but also to the less fortunate and less affluent segments who do not have means or access to such a nutritional food range for an active and healthy lifestyle. 

Chandana Ranaweera Arachchi, the Director of Social Services paying a glowing tribute to Nutrinnovate Lanka said, “This is a magnanimous gesture by an international healthy food company to provide nutrition to people with slow intellectual developmentwho live under total protection and care of the Department of Social Services. Speaking about the residents Ranaweera Arachchi said; “Puwakpitiya Jayawiru Sevana Home has a total capacity to provide complete care for 130 residents with similar intellectual issues who wereneglected and left with destitute by our society. The government annually spends considerably to provide facilities and maintain a good living standardfor them. In addition, the Department of Social Services also operate eight Vocational Training Centres islandwide.

Nutrinnovate Lanka was further represented at the event, by the Head of Sales and Marketing Rajitha Samaranayake and the Head of National distribution Mr Upul Wanninayake.
