Skipper Ahan Wickramsinghe and opener Sineth Jayawardena struck fine half-centuries as Royal College recorded an easy six-wicket victory over Nalanda College in their Under-19 Division One Tier ‘A’ quarter-final cricket fixture played at Mount Lavinia yesterday.
The Nalandians made 189 for seven in their 50 overs and Royal reached their target in 39 overs with six wickets in hand.
Nalanda Skipper Raveen de Silva top scored with 59 in 85 balls with two fours and a six but the Royal bowlers were in control of the game with leg-spinner Dasis Manchanayake claiming three for 17.

Royal in reply reached their target with 11 overs to spare as Jayawardena struck a fine 60 in 75 balls with six fours and a six while Wickramasinghe scored 71 not out in 79 balls inclusive of six fours.
Meanwhile a fine bowling performance by leg-spinner Dinuka Tennakoon and Skipper Abhishek Anandakumar helped Trinity College beat St. Sebastian’s College, Moraruwa by seven wickets in their Division One Tier ‘A’ quarter-final game played at Reid Avenue yesterday.
The Sebastianites were bowled out for 131 in 43.2 overs and Trinity reached their target in 30.1 overs.
