T. M. K. D. Tennakoon, former Industry and Commerce Ministry Secretary has been appointed Lak Sathosa Chairman.
He succeeds Dr. Rohantha Athukorala whose services have been terminated after being in office for just over a year. Ministry sources said Athukorale is tipped to be appointed CEO of either, Cooperative Training Centre Kandy or Laksala.
The CEO of Laksala is tipped to be appointed LakSathosa CEO. The government in a bid to revive Lak Sathosa has decided to appoint global consultancy firm KPMG. KPMG is expected to find ways to sustain Lak Sathosa in a profitable manner while offering the best market prices to Lankan consumers,” Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen said.
Another institution coming under the Ministry, Lanka Mineral Sands will see the appointment of former Southern Provincial Councillor Maitrhi Gunaratne as Chairman.
