The Thinnai Organic Farm Hotel in Jaffna was presented a “Sustainability Awards 2021” in the Small and Medium Enterprise category from the Sustainable Supply Chains initiative during the ‘Top German Brands in Sri Lanka’ event organised by Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka - AHK Sri Lanka recently.
The award winners were selected after evaluating the participants of the Sustainable Supply Chains and Sustainable Tourism Initiatives. The evaluation criteria included 1. Holistic approach to sustainability 2. Visionary leadership 3. Innovative capability and 4. Resistance to external factors (ie. Pandemic) when implementing sustainability practices.The Thinnai Hotel and Thinnai Organic Hotel General Manager Janitha Madawala, said that they were proud that Thinnai Group won this prominent award.
“This award was dedicated this year to the improvement of sustainable hospitality by means of environmental protection and preservation which the management emphasised on. We have ambitious goals to be an industry leader in sustainability. This award is recognition of the entire staff and our group’s dedication to ensuring we create a guest experience while doing so in an environmentally sustainable way.”
