Colombo bourse started with a gradual upward trend and witnessed profit taking at the closure of the trading session.
Local investor interest was centered around selective counters recording a daily turnover over Rs. 11 billion. Thus, the All Share Price Index declined by 30.7 points (-0.3%) to close at 11,409.9 whilst S & P SL20 Index gained by 29.7 points (+0.8%) to close at 3,905.7.
Commercial Leasing & Finance, LOLC Finance, Dialog Axiata, Hayleys and Browns Investments and remained as the top negative contributors to the ASPI during the day. Further, broader market’s total turnover stood at Rs.11,075.2 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of Rs. 4,565.9 mn, whilst the volume traded for the day was 402,005.6k against the 12-month average daily volume of 231,612.0k. Capital Goods, Materials, Transportation, Diversified Financials and Food and Beverage sectors mostly contributed to yesterday’s turnover.
