“Daraz has seen tremendous growth in Sri Lanka over the last couple of years but e-commerce is still only a fraction of the retail market. Seller and consumer education are going to be a key focus of our work and we are happy to work closely together with the government on a number of initiatives. With a strong public-private partnership we are confident that e-commerce will become a vital industry that not only creates jobs but provides many other opportunities for communities across the island,” stated Bjarke Mikkelsen, Group CEO of Daraz
Daraz Sri Lanka aims to have at least 100,000 active and educated small and medium enterprises selling on its platform, which in turn could lead to at least 300,000-400,000 new jobs in Sri Lanka.
