SriLankan Airlines will double its flight frequencies to London starting from this month.
It will increase up to four flights per week to eight and a ninth flight too is on the cards for the winter season, said Manoj Gunawardena Regional Head Europe & Americas at SriLankan Airlines told Daily News Business at the WTM opening.
Gunawardena said that this is to meet the increased demand from the UK market to both Sri Lanka and the Maldives. “We will also offer immediate connections to Male as well.” He said that the passenger load factor (PLF), for these two routes are very impressive and they will also look at adding the ninth flight by end January to boost their winter schedule.
The cargo factor too is increasing and many exporters are using Sri Lanka to ferry their perishables across to the UK and EU via us.” (SS)
