Encouraged by the massive response for the first free webinar, where over 300 participants registered, JASTECA is organising its second free introductory webinar on Friday 17 September 2021 on a popular Japanese management technique.
“Quality Circles” is an employee involvement technique, which originated in Japan, and which is credited with making a huge contribution to the development of quality and reliability and later productivity and customer delight, in the Japanese manufacturing and service sectors since the 1960s. Quality Circles are to be found widely in Sri Lanka too in the more progressive enterprises, and have brought out the hidden skills and talents of many front line workers in industrial and commercial enterprises.
JASTECA which stands for The Japan Sri Lanka Technical & Cultural Association is an alumni association of past trainees of Japan, who believe that Sri Lanka can greatly benefit from adopting Japanese Management Techniques. JASTECA is affiliated to the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnership (AOTS) of Japan, and is one among 73 Alumni Societies in 44 countries.
The resource person, Sunil G Wijesinha,is considered the father of Quality Circles in Sri Lanka, having first tried it out in 1981 and being the first to conduct seminars on the subject on behalf of JASTECA in the 1980s.
This 1.5 hour webinar will only be an introduction to the technique, its nature, benefits and why enterprises should adopt it. Later, JASTECA will organise a longer duration seminar to give a comprehensive working knowledge so that participants would be in a position to implement Quality Circles in their companies.
The webinar will be from 1.30 pm to 3 pm (1.5 hours) on Friday, September 17, 2021 and Registration could be done through messaging on WhatsApp +94 77 858 2992.
