Colombo bourse continued its upward trend yesterday with the successful vaccination rollout and possible re-opening the country next week whilst witnessing some price gains in value counters due to retail local investor participation.
Thus, All Share Price Index increased by 238.6 points (+2.7%) to close at 8,931.2 whilst S&P SL20 Index also increased by 78.9 points (+2.4%) to close the day at 3,335.2.
Expolanka Holdings, Browns Investments, LOLC Holdings, Commercial Leasing & Finance and LOLC Development Finance remained as the top positive contributors to the ASPI during the day. Further, broader market’s total turnover stood at Rs. 5,496.9 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of Rs. 3,963.7 million, whilst the volume traded for the day was 293,296.6k against the 12-month average daily volume of 215,880.4k.
Transportation, Capital Goods and Food and Beverage sectors mostly contributed to the day’s turnover.
The top traded counters for yesterday were Expolanka Holdings Rs. 2, 186.8 million (+11.8%), Browns Investments Rs. 984.4 million (+10.0%), LOLC Finance Rs. 522.9 mn (+7.3%), Hayleys Rs. 267.9 million (+2.9%) and LOLC Holdings Rs. 188.5 million (+4.1%).
