Union Assurance PLC offered vital medical equipment to four government hospitals as part of an initiative launched in response to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, offering much-needed support in Sri Lanka’s efforts to enhance capacity for patients. The COVID-19 pandemic has so far infected over 257,225 people and caused over 3,030 deaths in Sri Lanka.
Commenting on the initiative, Jude Gomes, the CEO of Union Assurance said, “COVID knows no boundaries, and it is our responsibility to assist the people and institutions at the frontline of the battle against the pandemic. During these unprecedented times, Union Assurance will remain steadfast in our commitment to support the country and our people.”
The medical equipment - high-flow oxygen machines, emergency trolleys, video laryngoscopes, and ventilators were distributed to the Medawachchiya Base Hospital, Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, Gampaha District General Hospital, and Kamburupitiya Base Hospital on 24th, 25th, and 30th June.
Union Assurance completing over three decades of success has a market capitalization of Rs. 18.2 billion, a Life Fund of Rs. 43.8 billion and a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 326% as of March 2021.
