The Rotary Club of Colombo Tech City recently inducted 73 members from software industry pioneer Creative Software, making it the first fully corporate-sponsored Rotary Club in Sri Lanka.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Colombo Fort, 2020-2021 Governor Ajith Weerasinghe presided over the online event with more than 100 Rotarians in participation. The speakers during the ceremony included District Governor Ajith Weerasinghe, Past District Governor Gowri Rajan and District Governor Elect Aruni Malalasekara.
A leader in Sri Lanka’s software industry, Creative Software works with clients across the world from a variety of industries including construction, healthcare, logistics, telecommunication, and e-commerce. By providing an opportunity for their workforce to take part in this corporate-sponsored Rotary Club, the company hopes to encourage the personal development and growth of their team members.
While serving a global client base, Creative Software aims to enable the young members of the tech industry be a part of a global network by initiating their own corporate-sponsored Rotary Club in Sri Lanka. By leveraging the benefits of being a Rotarian both locally and internationally, the company’s leadership hopes all its team members will have increased opportunities to get involved in social services and sustainability practices through this initiative.
Furthermore, the organisation looks forward to more networking opportunities with other tech industry peers through the Rotary Club of Colombo Tech City. With Rotary Youth Leadership and exchange programmes, members of the club are encouraged to improve their communication skills, work on charitable projects, achieve personal development goals and broaden their horizons.
