‘2021 Budget and Construction Industry’ CIOB webinar on Dec. 9

A Webinar on ‘‘2021 Budget and Construction Industry” organized by the Ceylon Institute of Builders will be held on the December 9 from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Kularatne, Chairman, Maga Construction (Pvt) Ltd, Prof. Chitra Weddikkara, Advisor, CIOB and M.D. Q Serve (Pvt) Ltd, Eng. Saliya Kaluarachchi, Hon. CIOB, President Dr. Rohan Karunaratne, explaining the purpose of the conference said, ‘‘We are organizing this Webinar to educate those in the field about how the 2021 budget will affect the construction industry.

The construction industry is the most important sector of the country’s economy. The construction industry can contribute about 10 per cent to Sri Lanka’s GDP.

The number of people directly and indirectly dependent on this industry is around one million. Also, money in the construction industry circulates between all classes of society, from the lowest to the highest”.
