The virtual event was held on the 24th of November 2020 and was organized by CMO Asia, the only global network of executives specifically dedicated to high-level knowledge exchange and relationship building.
To bag the reputable accolade, Maliban was evaluated with judging criteria based on the firm’s objectives, innovation and creativity, strategy and clear demonstrable results for the year 2020. The opportunity allowed Maliban to clearly demonstrate its efforts towards uplifting the local community while pursuing its vision to be the most respected biscuit brand in the country.
With a colourful history which spans over 70 years, Maliban has successfully won the hearts of older generations throughout the decades. However, to better cater to younger generations, the company implemented key strategic moves which included the diversification of its existing product portfolio, through a series of re-launches.
The resulting success of these strategies paved the way for Maliban to win the Brand Excellence Award in the FMCG sector. This accolade positioned the pioneer biscuit manufacturer in Sri Lanka among other leading industry professionals who have made outstanding contributions in the branding and marketing fraternity.
