Korean ‘Heung A-Line’ calls on Colombo Port

Heung A Line headquartered in South Korea launched their maiden service (SIS/ CI6) into Sri Lanka with their first vessel entering the Port of Colombo at the CICT with mv. BALTIC SOUTH v. 2001W on December 20.

The service is jointly operated by “Heung A Line” in partnership with Sinokor Line, Wan Hai Line, Feedertech and Intra Asia Line. “The Heung A Line” is locally represented by Sharaf Shipping Agency (Pvt) Ltd.

The SIS / CI6 service will be a weekly call at CICT deploying 6x4200 TEU vessels directly connecting China to Sri Lanka and India. The port rotation of SIS/ CI6 service will be Dalian, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou, Singapore, Port Kelang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Port Kelang and back to China.

New SIS/ CI6 service provides “Heung A Line” to offer a direct connection between China - Sri Lanka and India and enable them to make their presence available in this region.

It will help the importers in Sri Lanka to ensure that their valuable cargo, especially in the garment and the construction industry to source in time to book their production/manufacturing facilities.

“Heung A Line” is looking at further expansion into this regent and have already launched their second service, SIS-2 from China to India.
