The two key indexes of the Colombo Stock Exchange had two landmark increases despite just two hours of trading which took place from 9 am and 11 am, market sources told Daily News Finance yesterday.
Both indexes of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) continued to move up with the All Share Price Index (ASPI) gaining 3.78% from its prevision close which is the highest percentage gain since 16 February 2012. The S&P SL20 Index during trading today gained 5.25%, marking the highest daily percentage gain in the index since it was formed in 2012. The index closed at 1,847.71 points. The market which continued to function under shortened trading hours recorded a 1.06 Billion rupee turnover.
