A tree planting program, ‘Maxxis Thuru Viyana’ organized by the Tyre House Group, was held at Mahara Prison premises recently.
Tyre House Group Chairman Leslie Fonseka, Managing Director Sunil Fonseka and the upper management participated at the event. Special invitees for the event were Professor Sunil Ariyarathne and Prisons Commissioner General P.T.M.J. Thennakoon.
Under this inaugural the ‘Maxxis Thuru Viyana’ initiative, 1,000 trees were planted and the Tyre House hopes to have this program in throughout Sri Lanka as the management believes that ‘Felling a tree is the biggest mistake in life.’
