These bodies and other stakeholders must join and promote tourism as one nation he said addressing the launch of the National Policy for Tourism in Colombo last week. The event was attended by State Minister, Arundika Fernando, Provincial governors as well.
He said that the tourism is a complex subject since several line Ministers, provincial councils are involved and the government objective is to bring ‘all’ under one platform.

“We must all work towards the target of achieving USD 10 billion revenue by 2025 set by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. “Novel thinking and new modern marketing trends should be studied and executed to woo more tourists to Sri Lanka without having a negative impact to the social fabric of Sri Lanka.”
Government keeps receiving complains of harassment for tourists and ‘mafias’ in some tourism areas and strict action would be taken against them as well.
