Sri Lanka companies, chamber members, and engineering students have been invited to participate at EXCON India. Participants could reap multiple benefits by attending the second-largest Construction Equipment Sector exhibition ‘Excon’ from December 10-14, 2019 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru.
This event aims to showcase the best of equipment and technology available for modern infrastructure creation.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s apex industry association, will host the event. The event is the 10th Edition in Bengaluru and would feature more than 1250 companies including 350 overseas companies.
The previous edition of this biennial initiative organized in 2017 featured 918 exhibitors including 226 exhibitors from abroad and was spread over an area of 26,00,000 square feet with the attendance of 55,224 business visitors.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s Apex Industry Association, held a Road Show in Colombo recently as a part of CIIs series of planned events held across the region to promote ‘EXCON and it was facilitated by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organization, playing a proactive role in India’s development process.
CII was founded in 1895. It is India’s premier business association and has around 9000 members. Members are from the private as well as public sectors. SMEs and MNCs are represented as members. CII has an indirect membership of over 300,000 enterprises from around 276 national and regional sector industry bodies.
General Manager CII, Immanuel Kumar said that the entrance for the event is free and registration could be done online, at the Bangalore airport, or at the venue. He said that special transport arrangements would be made and the Light Rail link is available close to the venue.
He said that several new products would be launched. A series of free seminars would be held which would offer new insights to the industry. “These would be highly beneficial for Chamber members in a related field and to students of engineering.”
He said that for importers of construction vehicles, tires, equipment, and machinery will be able to see the latest designs being launched at the venue.
He added, “This can be a good venue to look for new opportunities as well.”
EXCON would also be good for Sri Lankan component importers and well as exporters. He said that they would be able to find buyers/partners and even may be able to sign up for joint ventures.
The infrastructure sector is a key driver for the Indian economy. The sector is highly responsible for propelling India’s overall development and enjoys intense focus from the Government for initiating policies that would ensure the time-bound creation of a world-class infrastructure in the country. India is now set to become a US$ 5 trillion economy in the next five years and the Indian industry will remain the principal growth engine for achieving this target. “Due to this, the best of the best would be exhibited at the EXCON 2019.” Sri Lanka’s delegation will be organized by the Ceylon Chamber.
