Consul General of India, Jaffna organized a first ever International Tech Summit -NE(X)TWORK-2020 with a part funding at Tilko City Hotel, Jaffna from February 14 to 16, 2020, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Jaffna and the Northern Chamber of Information Technology (NCIT). Several others including the Department of Industries Northern Province, supported the event.
Consul General S. Balachandran, Members of Parliament E. Saravanapavan, Angajan Ramanathan and the Jaffna Mayor jointly inaugurated the Summit. Over 500 people attended the inaugural function. There were 8 Indian companies viz. Bloque Labs Pvt. Ltd., Agnito Insights, Compunet Connections, Humanware Technology Pvt. Ltd., Otomatiks Robotics Academy, Tejus, Venba Venture Pvt. Ltd., and Excel Engineering, while 10 Indian delegates who had participated in the Summit. 25 local companies including 07 from outside Jaffna also took part in the Summit. During the 3 day Summit, over 1,500 people including members of the CCIY (Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Yarlpanam), IT professionals and students from the Northern Province interacted with the companies, according to a Press Release.
