Bourse ends in red

Bourse ended in red on the price losses made in CINS and LOLC yesterday. ASPI witnessed a volatile movement throughout trading reaching an intraday high of 6,009 and closed at 5,981, losing 7 points. Parcel trades made in JKH, CTC, AEL and AEL constitutes 47% of the day’s turnover. A net foreign outflow was witnessed for the third consecutive day amidst moderate foreign participation, according to First Capital Holdings PLC.

With the commencement of the week, prior to the bond auction, the secondary market yield curve witnessed a downward shift amidst the buying interest while overall market witnessed moderate volumes during the day.

In the shorter end of the yield curve 15.12.21 saw its yield trading between 8.70%- 8.62% while in the belly end of the curve 15.07.23 and 01.09.23 traded between 9.25% and 9.35% respectively. 15.06.24 and 15.09.24 changed hands in the range of 9.60% -9.54% while long tenor 15.05.30 and 15.09.34 traded between 9.98% -10.12% range. Meanwhile at the first bond auction of the year which was held today, 01.09.23 and 15.05.30 maturities were accepted at 9.39%- 9.99% respectively.
