The Cabinet has decided to shut down the National Agency for Public Private Partnership of the Finance Ministry with immediate effect.
Sri Lankan financier and entrepreneur Thilan Wijesinghe, was the Chairman and acting CEO of the Agency which had a staff of over 20. It was set up in 2017.
The primary role of this division established under the Ministry of Finance was to provide oversight in execution, transparency, good governance, formulation of policies and recommendations to the Cabinet Committee on Economic Management (CCEM), headed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
