The victory attained by Gotabaya Rajapaksa as the 7th Executive President, would certainly bring confidence to the international community (IC) in the travel, tourism and aviation industry that Sri Lanka is a peaceful country respecting democracy, said former Director, Sri Lanka Tourism and Chairman, Sparklink Travels (Pvt.) Ltd., Nihal C. B. Perera.
With the election of Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka could look forward to grow in leaps and bounds as the country has elected a leader with a Vision and a Mission to achieve great success for all Sri Lankans to live in peace and harmony, devoid of ethnic barriers.
As a Pioneer and a Legend in Tourism, counting over four decades in the travel, tourism and aviation to the industry. I feel that the the President elect would no doubt bring in professionalism and efficiency of the new administration and also uphold the rights of all Sri Lankans to live in harmony and reconciliation.
The need of the hour is for all Sri Lankans to unite and extend their fullest support to Gotabaya Rajapaksa, as the new President, to achieve success in all spheres for Sri Lanka.
The peacefully held election conveys a clear message to the international community worldwide that Sri Lanka is a peaceful country that respects democracy.
His past track record of beautifying the city by adding several new tourist attractions while he was heading the Urban Development Authority is also commendable.
