Colombo equities demonstrated positive investor sentiment yesterday. The Benchmark Index, ASPI closed the day at 6,309.04 points, gaining 67.94 points or +1.09%. Foreigners took the position of net buyers for the day, recording a net foreign inflow of LKR45mn for the day.
JKH.N recorded the highest turnover for the day of LKR704.0mn, followed by COMB.N (LKR156.4mn) and HNB.N (LKR110.5mn).
The day saw turnover increase by 103.9% to LKR1.18bn compared to the last trading day.
Diversified Holding Sector managed to record the highest turnover of LKR705.9mn for the day, followed by the Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector and Manufacturing Sector with daily turnovers of LKR367.6mn and LKR35.2mn respectively.
Year to date ASPI Performance stood at -8.1%, while Year to date Blue Chip Index decreased -2.5%.
Out of the 189 counters traded yesterday, 18 companies declined while 124 companies closed higher.
