Colombo bourse continued to observe positive investor interest yesterday whilst local retails investor interest further centered upon banking and leisure sector counters.
Thus, the All Share Price Index gained 44.6 points (+0.5%) to close at 9,671.0 whilst S&P SL20 Index also increased by 14.5 points to close at 3,616.9. LOLC Development & Finance, Carsons Cumberbatch, Expolanka Holdings, Ceylon Tobacco and John Keells Holdings remained as the top positive contributors to the ASPI during the day.
Further, broader market’s total turnover stood at Rs.3,497.3 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of Rs.4,049.7 mn, whilst the volume traded for the day was 239,041.5k against the 12-month average daily volume of 216,820.7k. Banks, Capital Goods, Transportation and Diversified financial sectors mostly contributed to yesterday’s turnover.
