Towards fulfilling 70% of Sri Lanka’s energy sector requirements by 2030 through renewable energy as spelt out in the Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the government sought assistance from the Asian Development Bank towards this.
South Asian Region Director, Asian Development Bank Kenich Yokoyama met Minister of Power and Energy Gamini Lokuge last week to discuss this further. The State Minister of Solar, Wind and Hydro Power Generation Projects Development Duminda Dissanayake along with senior Ministry officials also participated.
