Hambantota Int’l Port supports fight against pandemic

Donation being handed over to the Regional Director of Health Services Office – Hambantota.

The Hambantota International Port (HIP) is doing their part in the ongoing fight against the pandemic in Sri Lanka and donated essential items to selected state organisations in the Hambantota District. The state entities who received supplies last week included the Zonal Education Office, the District Secretariat, Regional Director of Health Services Office and District General Hospital Hambantota.

The Zonal Education Office received disinfection and personal protective equipment such as hand spray machines, boots, rubber gloves, face shields, paddle type sinks, and paddle type dustbins for the use of school students. The District Secretariat was provided with PPE Kits, KN95 Face Masks, Surgical Masks and Sanitizer Bottles to safeguard frontline government health officials engaged in coping with the rise in numbers testing positive for the virus on a daily basis. The COVID-19 Treatment Ward at the District General Hospital Hambantota was supplied with consumables, lunch sheets and papers, as well as a computer and printer to ease administrative/clerical work. Equipment for the new COVID-19 Hospital in Angunukolapalassa, was handed over to the office of the Regional Director of Health Services.

“Our CSR team has been diligent in carrying out these projects and we intend to continue supporting the Hambantota community during this time,” said Jeevan Premasara, Senior General Manager HR& Admin of HIPG. The donation items were handed over by Johnson Liu, CEO-HIPG, Raymond Mu, CFO-HIPG, Tissa Wickramasinghe, COO-HIPG and Lance Zuo, General Manager Commercial and Marketing HIPG to the respective Government Officials.
