WIM, NYSC, celebrate Sri Lankan youth successes

The “New generation Awards” 2020 was presented by Women in Management in partnership with National Youth Services Council at the WIM 10th Anniversary of their Global Brand WIM Top50 Awards. New Generation awards 2020 were conferred recently, with Sri Lankan young leaders recognized for their youth leadership achievements in sports, arts & music, education, careers, profession, agriculture, social, media, Tourism, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. The event was held on 8th December 2020 in line with the New Normal COVID-19 guidelines.

Dr Segera, Founder/Chairperson WIM mentioned “It’s high time we stop blaming our youth for their attitude and behaviour towards careers, social media, society, etc., and rather find possibilities to help them to find their path of success and assist them to be a happy human than just achieving success in life. It was the main reason I brainchild this new award for youth so that Sri Lanka can move forward with a positive future for our youth”.

This event was graced by Minister Namal Rajapaksa, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports as the Chief Guest, Nipuna Ranawaka, member of the parliament and DIG Ajith Rohana Police Media Spokesman as the Guest of Honours.

Rajapaksa said, “Sri Lankans make most innovative posts on social media and digital platforms, we need to use that innovation for the positive impact in our country than using it for harming privacy and personal lives of our fellow citizens.”
