One of Sri Lanka’s leading pharmaceutical product manufacturers and distributors, Darley Butler Health Care (DBHC) recently made a donation of Rs. 500,000 to HelpAge Sri Lanka (HASL) to improve the health facilities for underprivileged senior citizens in the country.
Darley Butler Health Care Unit recently signed an agreement with HelpAge to make donations from the proceeds of each `Friends Adult Diapers’ pack to HelpAge .
Darley Butler Health Care Unit was established in 2001 and currently engaged in the marketing and distribution of Pharmaceutical products including `Friends Adults Diapers’ and other laboratory products.
HelpAge Executive Director Samantha Liyanawaduge said this contribution will help HelpAge Eye Hospital to perform free cataract surgeries and improve the vision of Senior Citizens.
Darley Butler Health Care Unit CEO Rasika Hirimuthugoda highlighted the importance of performing free cataract surgeries by HelpAge Eye Hospital and said this service cannot be measured lightly.
HelpAge Eye Hospital so far performed 38,000 free cataract surgeries on needy Senior Citizens.
In addition HelpAge provides needy persons with free disability equipment such as wheelchairs, crutches, spectacles etc.
DBHC, Business Development Manager Udayamohan said “Friends adult diapers” are manufactured by Nobel Hygiene in India and distributed in Sri Lanka by Darley Butler Company.
