The Sri Lanka Chamber of Small and Medium Industries (SLCSMI) the apex body for the Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) sector, is planning to host a series of Webinars/Seminars, to address the issues faced by the National Economy and strategize the Way Forward particularly for the SME’s.
The first of the series of Webinars is scheduled for Saturday 25 from 4.00 pm to 5.30 pm, which will be titled: “RECOVER & REVITALIZE.”
President, SLCSMI, Rohan De Silva they have contributed towards the SME sustenance and growth in the past 56 years, supporting this vital sector to overcome their difficulties and face the challenges that they have been facing, particularly over last several years.
The Covid – 19 Pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on the global economies, Sri Lanka has so far managed this situation well, but the multi-billion dollar impact on our economy, is yet to unfold.
SME’s which contribute nearly 70% to GDP and over 40% of employment generated, is a vital sector that has been severely impacted.
The “Way Forward for SME’s” series of Webinars, will bring together eminent resource persons, with valuable knowledge, expertise and experience, to address the issues faced by the SME’s, particularly the Challenges and Opportunities available to them.
“They will also help identify strategies and policy initiatives, at a macro level, that the chamber can address and facilitate, to help SME businesses to survive, sustain and develop, with the focus on the Vision – “MADE IN SRI LANKA.” “Whilst assisting to overcome the challenges, faced by individual SME’s, who are knowledgeable and much talented, in their own industry sectors, the Webinars will facilitate the individual SME’s, to evolve sustainable business plans, both locally, centered on the theme “BE LANKAN, BUY LANKAN,”.
