For the 6th consecutive year the management of Strathspey Estate managed by the Maskeliya Plantations PlC and owned by Richard Pieris Group of Companies, organized an awards ceremony to honour the children who had gained pass marks and above 100 marks in the Grade 5 Scholarship test in 2019.
These children were attached to the Gouraville Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya, Gouraville Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, Minna Tamil Vidayalaya, Annandale Tamil Vidyalaya, Deivakanda Tamil Vidyalaya and Glenugie Tamil Vidyalaya.
They were awarded with gifts, stationery and other items. The teachers who contributed and committed themselves for this achievement too were felicitated.
The parents of the children who were felicitated, said that this type of encouragement in recognition of their children’s skills and knowledge, provided them with motivation to strive further in their education in the future.
