Emerald International launches shirt collection

Colours, forms and designs steeped in the artistic classics of the Renaissance – brought together to create a collection unseen in the Sri Lankan menswear industry.

That was the promise of the recently held Emerald International Road Show for Autumn / Winter 2019/20– an exclusive collection of shirts under the Leonardo and the Emerald label.

The collection not only paid homage to the Renaissance as an inspiration for design perfection, but also highlighted the exceptional quality and finish Emerald and Leonardo have come to personify as Sri Lanka’s leading brands of shirts and men’s apparel.

Commenting on the collection which is launched for Autumn/Winter 2019/20, Arun Kumar, Head of Design at Emerald International, says that what makes it exceptional is the coming together of so many factors that go into creating a great shirt. “Sri Lankan brands have the potential to position ourselves on the world stage. In keeping with global fashion trends, the Road Show for Autumn / Winter 2019-20 brings together a collection that is packed with promise and aesthetics.”

The collections are developed as limited edition capsules and consists of fabrics such as jacquards with a specific weave, to cottons that feel like silk yet are comfortable and elegant at the same time.

Each shirt in the collection is stamped with the legacy of Emerald International’s heritage in menswear that goes back over sixty years.
